Job Description

Incumbents are responsible for aspects of Physician Practice front office management and operation as assigned. May be responsible for some or all front office functions including patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture, coding diagnoses, posting payments, balancing reports, arranging pre-payments, billing, filing insurance claims, assisting patients with insurance forms, processing unpaid accounts, and acting as liaison between patients and medical staff. Duties also include greeting patients, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments, providing phone support, cashiering functions, maintaining patient records, assisting with insurance claims and benefits, coding and billing processes, managing patient charts and medical records, collecting payments, performing collections actions, evaluating financial status, and participating in educational activities. The role requires a high level of public contact, excellent interpersonal skills, and adherence to Prisma Health's values. This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor or manager. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree preferred, and no previous experience required though multi-specialty group practice experience is preferred. Basic understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding is preferred. Work shift is during the day in the United States of America.
